"Learn to Swim" Clinics Set to Resume in September

The clinic is open to general public as well as children of YSU students, faculty and staff. The cost is $50 per child, with separate skill levels to benefit all participants.
All profits raised benefit the Youngstown State swimming and diving program.
The lessons will be held at YSU's Beeghly Center Natatorium on the following dates:
Wednesday, Sept. 7 - 6-6:45 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 11 - 6-6:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 14 - 6-6:45 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 18 - 6-6:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 21 - 6-6:45 p.m.
All participants will receive focused swim instructions from knowledgeable swimmers in a fun-filled environment. Registration is open until the first lesson on Sept. 7. Participants need to bring appropriate swimming attire, a towel and goggles (if preferred).
Parents are asked to sit in the viewing level in the stands of the Beeghly Center Natatorium. Parking is available across the street in the M-63 lot.

SWIM LEVELS
I - Water Exploration: Teaches children with no previous swimming experience,water adjustment and basic supported swimming skills.
II - Primary Skills: Emphasizes underwater exploration, unsupported locomotion, front and back combined stroke and jumping into the water without help.
III - Stroke Readiness: Teaches front crawl, diving, elementary backstroke and back crawl.
IV - Stroke Development: Teaches sidestroke and breaststroke, stressing form,coordination and endurance.
V - Stroke Development, Personal Water Safety, Fitness Swimmer: Teaches butterfly kick, underwater swimming skills and mastery of stroke skills. This level emphasizes on distance swimming, turns and surface dives.
